GETTING A CLEANER KEY
Shoot and prepare with the edges in mind.
The cleaner the separation, the less work you do in the edit. These points come from the kinds of footage that give the model the most trouble.
Face the light
A subject lit from the front with soft light keeps clear outlines. Strong backlight from a window makes edges harder to find.
Avoid green clothing
Anything green on your subject will disappear when you key the green out later. Choose a different colour for clothing and props.
Separate the subject from the wall
Standing a little away from the background, with different colours on each, helps the model tell them apart.
Reduce motion blur
Quick gestures blur at the edges. Slower movement, more light, or a faster shutter keeps hands and hair sharper.
Stay in frame
Subjects that leave and re-enter the shot, or several people overlapping, produce less consistent results than one steady subject.

- 3D Keyer on the Color page, or Delta Keyer in Fusion; sample the green and adjust the matte.
- Final Cut Pro
- Add the Keyer effect. It finds the green automatically, and Edge Distance and Spill Level refine it.
- CapCut
- Cutout, then Chroma key: pick the green and raise intensity and shadow until the background is gone.
- iMovie
- Drag the clip over your background and choose Green/Blue Screen from the video overlay menu.
LIMITS
What green screen remover is not for.
This tool creates green-screen footage. It is not a chroma keyer, so some jobs belong in your editor instead.
- If your clip already has a green screen behind you, you do not need this tool: your editor's chroma key removes it directly.
- The output is not transparent. You get a solid green background, not an alpha channel or a WebM with transparency.
- Choosing and placing the new background happens in your editor, not on this site.
- Each job is one clip of 30 seconds or less. Longer footage must be split first.
- Complex scenes, fast motion, and fine hair or fur can leave rough edges that need manual cleanup.
What does green screen remover do?
It removes the original background of a regular video and replaces it with a solid green background. The output is a green-screen MP4, not a transparent video.
Do I need to film in front of a green screen?
No. Start with a normal video. The tool separates the subject and creates the green background for your next edit.
Does it remove an existing green screen?
This workspace creates a green-screen video from ordinary footage. To replace the resulting green with another scene, use the chroma-key controls in your video editor.

Will the sound and framing change?

The credit price is calculated from the verified clip duration, rounded up to whole seconds, and shown before processing. Uploading does not spend processing credits.
Is this the same as a chroma key?
No. A chroma key removes a green background that is already in your footage. Green screen remover creates that green background from ordinary footage, so you can use a chroma key afterwards.
Do I have to sign in?
Yes. You sign in before uploading so the job, the credit price, and the finished green-screen MP4 are stored in your account history.
What if a job does not finish?
When processing fails, the credits for that job go back to your balance, and you can review the clip before trying again.
